IDB is committed with the growth of the apparel sector in Haiti

The apparel industry is also among the largest employers within Haiti, creating jobs for over 36,000 people. The sector currently employs more than 36,000 workers (75% women), represents 10% of national GDP which produces 90% of exports of country, or 845 million US dollars. More than 75% of workers report being a member of at least one loan circle.

The Americas Business Dialogue’s recommendations on trade facilitation were presented In the framework of the VII meeting of the Inter-American Network of International Single Windows (Red VUCE) in Brasilia, Brazil,. These recommendations are included in ABD’s report “From Dialogue to Action: Policy Recommendations and Public-Private Partnership Proposals”. Red VUCE is the regional forum for dialogue and collaboration composed of the agencies that administer electronic single windows in the region.
