Progress towards the Integration of Stock Markets in the AP

Since 2009, the monitoring entities of Chile, Colombia and Peru have been joining forces in order to contribute to the development of the Integrated Latin American Market (MILA) and to set up mutual cooperation mechanisms, such as the exchange of information and consultations, to achieve full integration of their stock markets. Mexico has expressed interest in joining the MILA, which could happen in 2014.

The IDB has been supporting the AP initiative given the importance of this project to regional integration and its pivot as one of the most dynamic economic zones of the world. In this context, the Bank has delivered technical support to governments and business representatives participating in this initiative.

Pacific Alliance Countries Join Forces to Promote Investment in Korea

South Korea was the venue for a seminar on investment opportunities in the Pacific Alliance, jointly organized by the trade and investment promotion agencies of Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru, with the support of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) and the IDB. Diplomatic representatives and commercial attaches of AP member countries pivoted potential business opportunities in the bloc to more than 150 Korean businesspeople and executives.
