On Wednesday, June 6, representatives from diverse civil society organizations participated in a workshop on “International Financing, Accountability and the Role of Civil Society” co-organized by DAR and MICI in the city of Lima, Peru.
MICI’s participants for the workshop were MICI’s Director Victoria Márquez-Mees, Gastón Aín, Coordinator of the Consultation Phase and Martín Packmann, Case Officer. DAR’s participants were Hugo Che Piu, member of the Directive Council and Francisco Rivasplata, Coordinator of the program of Rights and Amazonia. The workshop addressed issues related to the mechanism’s operation and ways to access it through the experience of operated cases, the contexts of investments in the region and the network of financial institutions accountability mechanisms (IAMs).
By doing this, MICI meets its mandate of outreach and activity implementation with people, communities and organization of Latin American and the Caribbean.
