Keisuke Nakamura, Acting General Manager of the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), was appointed Special Advisor to General Manager of the MIF in 2016.
Prior to that, he held various senior positions at the IDB. From March 2009 to February 2016, Mr. Nakamura was the Deputy Manager for Evaluation, Knowledge, Strategic Communication and Country Office Affairs of MIF. Mr. Nakamura was Deputy Manager of the Financial Support Services Subdepartment of the Regional Operations Department of the IDB from August 2000 until June 2007. Mr. Nakamura was a Senior Advisor at the IDB’s Sustainable Development Department for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises from July 1998 to July 2000. He joined the IDB as a Deputy Manager when the MIF started its operations in 1993.
Before joining the IDB in 1993, Mr. Nakamura worked for the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund of Japan (OECF). Among other responsibilities there, he was a Senior Advisor for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Latin America operations. He was a resident representative of the OECF in Washington D.C. from October 1988 to April 1992. Mr. Nakamura holds a BA in Business Administration from the Yokohama National University, Japan. Mr. Nakamura also studied at the University of Navarra in Spain.
